Post submitted by Marilyn Abalos, HRC Greater New York's Volunteer Co-Chair and Political and Diversity Committees Advisor

Christine Quinn, Edie WindsorI joined Team Quinn for a rally outside ABC Studios and NBC Studios in NYC where Christine Quinn participated at the Democratic Mayoral Candidates Debates on August 13 and earlier this week on Tuesday, September 3.

A number of volunteers and I rallied in support of Chris Quinn's run for mayor of NYC as she met with the other candidates for some of the last debates before the primary. New Yorkers from all walks of life attended; there was strong support from college students and senior citizens, there were mothers with their infants in strollers, business professionals in suits and union members, and more. The sidewalks were awash with placards and totems: Christine Quinn for NYC Mayor, the Mighty Quinn, We Love CQ, Women for Quinn etc. Chants "Win with Quinn!" filled the air.

The Greater New York Steering Committee is so proud to support Quinn, an experienced leader who will take care of New Yorkers and New York City. She will continue to protect the rights of women, immigrants and LGBT, provide vital health care services, help with jobs and economic opportunities, fight for quality education and lead NYC on the world stage. She’s got the record and the right stuff!

There is less than a week until next Tuesday’s New York City primaries. Please join me, along with Edie Windsor and other HRC supporters at the GOTV LGBT RALLY tonight,  September 6th at 7pm at  Christopher Street & 7th Ave. Sign-up here:

Also join us for the WOMEN FOR QUINN RALLY on SUNDAY September 8 at 12 pm, on 72nd Street & Broadway.

Sign up to join fellow HRC volunteers! We need all the help we can to Get Out the Vote and on Primary Day. For further information, you can email David Contreras Turley at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
