Today, champions of equality in Phoenix, Arizona joined HRC as it continued its tour across the nation with Jim Obergefell, a longtime HRC member and the named plaintiff in the marriage equality case currently before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and President and CEO of the Arizona Technology Council Steven Zylstra stood with us in solidarity at the state capitol building this afternoon.

Within the next few weeks the Supreme Court of the United States will decide if nationwide marriage equality should go into effect. Obergefell is a name that will soon go down in the history books, and HRC is honored to be by his side throughout the tour.

The Supreme Court has before it the opportunity to bring marriage equality to loving, committed same-sex couples in all 50 states.
