With three days before early voting kicks off in Georgia, HRC continues its mobilization efforts to #turnOUT the vote and turn a historically red state like Georgia blue. HRC staff and volunteers have ramped up their outreach to members and supporters, engaging pro-equality voters to take advantage of early voting and get involved with the local efforts to turn Georgia blue.
In addition to endorsing Hillary Clinton, HRC endorsed Congressman John Lewis for Georgia's 5th Congressional District and Hank Johnson for the 4th Congressional District.
On Tuesday, Democratic National Committee Chair Donna Brazile stopped by the HER House in Atlanta to speak to and thank staff and volunteers for all the work they are doing to elect Hillary Clinton. Brazile led volunteers in an #iwillvote rally and urged volunteers to get out to the polls for early voting, which starts Monday, October 17.
Later in the week, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr. visited the campaign office to fire up volunteers to continue the work with three weeks left until election day.
“You’re volunteers. Rosa Parks was a volunteer. Those that marched on Washington and in Selma were volunteers. And volunteering reflects your values and what’s important….a better and stronger America,” he said. “Here we are today with a clear choice between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, and the choice is clear...we trust Hillary Clinton to fight for gender equality and racial justice...to vote for a Supreme Court that is fair...Hillary can be and will be the next president.”
HRC Atlanta volunteers will be phone banking every Monday through Thursday evening. HRC is counting on members and supporters to mobilize and #turnOUT the pro-equality vote in November. HRC members are volunteering thousands of hours for endorsed candidates and are visible at campaign events across Georgia and across the country.
