The Human Rights Campaign and the U.S. Small Business Administration are working together to provide a free webinar training for small business owners on making their workplace inclusive for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees. Those participating will learn why fostering an inclusive workplace can make employees more productive; how to provide safeguards for you and your employees by creating a non-discrimination policy; and where to find the latest information about changing laws and regulations. The event will be held June 25, 2014 at 2:00 Eastern Time. The partnership is in honor of LGBT Pride Month.
Pride events are held nationwide throughout the month in cities big and small. Members of the LGBT community and their allies gather at festivals and parades to celebrate the progress that has been made, but also to remember that there is more work to be done. Hundreds of companies nationally and internationally celebrate the contributions of LGBT workers and connect with the communities in which they operate through Pride ad campaign, Pride booths and marching in parades.
Over the last twelve years, the Corporate Equality Index has served as the premiere benchmarking report for LGBT equality in the workplace. Through this work, HRC has seen exponential increases in the number of major businesses extending inclusive policies and benefits to their LGBT workers and a major increase in respectful ad campaigns, philanthropy ans broader community engagement.
