On Friday, May 30th, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation along with ONE Community, the creator of the UNITY Pledge, will host the second LGBT Workplace Inclusion Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. This conference will highlight HRC’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and Municipal Equality Index (MEI).

The event will include a panel discussion featuring area business and policy makers.  Among the featured speakers are representatives of City of Phoenix, City of Tempe, PetSmart and Cox Communications. Companies participating in the conference will learn best practices for making their organizations fully inclusive of LGBT people and how to improve their scores on HRC’s Corporate Equality Index. And, leaders from municipal governments and public sector agencies will receive tips on making municipal governments more inclusive to LGBT residents and public employees.

The CEI is the national benchmark in corporate LGBT equality and considers non-discrimination policies, benefits, diversity training and other internal resources for LGBT workers, as well as external support for LGBT consumers and job seekers.

The MEI examines the laws, policies, and services of municipalities around the country and rates them on how inclusive they are of LGBT people.  Phoenix, Arizona, received a perfect 100 point score on the 2013 MEI.

The day-long conference will take place at Native Health, 4041 North Central Ave Building C, Phoenix, AZ 85012. To register for this complimentary conference, click here. For more information call ONE Community at 480-355-0088.
