The Hershey Company is the latest corporate titan to support the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which protects LGBT employees from jobdiscrimination. The Pennsylvania-based chocolate maker joins many other distinctly American brands in signing onto the Human Rights Campaign’s Business Coalition for Workplace Fairness, a coalition that supports ENDA.
A vote on the bill, which enjoys strong bipartisan support nationally and in Pennsylvania, is expected next week. Americans simply understand that all employees – no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity – should be judged on their merits and performance on the job.
More than 100 large and small businesses make up our coalition, including GlaxoSmithKline (also based in Pennsylvania), Coca-Cola, Nike, General Mills, Dow Chemical, and Eastman Kodak.
HRC, in partnership with Americans for Workplace Opportunity, has been on the ground in the Keystone state for months mobilizing grassroots and small business support for ENDA.
