Ebony Magazine today published a top ten list of the “coolest black families in America.” Rashad Burgess, the Bishop Oliver Clyde Allen III and their eleven-week old daughter, Caylee LaTanya Burgess-Allen, came in at Number 10.

Burgess and Allen first married in 2002 on the shores of South Carolina, and then had a legal ceremony in 2009 in Washington, D.C. They currently reside in Atlanta, Georgia, where Burgess works as the branch chief at the Center for Disease Control and Allen serves as the pastor at the Vision Church.

Last year, Linda Johnson Rice, chairman of Johnson Publishing Company and publisher of Ebony and Jet magazines, joined HRC’s Americans for Marriage Equality campaign.
