Zach Wahls’ February 2011 testimony before the Iowa state legislature defending marriage equality garnered nearly 20 million views on YouTube, making it the most-watched political video of 2011.
Zach’s testimony carried a powerful message that drowned out the vitriolic rhetoric of anti-LGBT opponents who claimed marriage equality threatened families. His story was simple: his moms were lesbians, and he was perfectly ok. His parents were not so different than anyone else's - together, they formed a loving, stable family.
