Your Voice is Your Vote
September 6, 2012 by HRC staff
This post comes from HRC Consumer Marketing Assistant Bryce Romero:
In 2012, your vote is your voice.
In just one week, we’ve heard a resounding call for marriage equality and LGBT inclusion from a chorus of prominent Americans including First Lady Michelle Obama, San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. On stage at the Democratic National Convention openly gay Congressman Jared Polis spoke of our shared vision for an inclusive America that works for all of its citizens. Included in the DNC crowd was the highest number of LGBT delegates- ever.
American storyteller Louis L’Amour once said: “to make democracy work, we must be a notion of participants, not simply observers.”
With just 61 days left until Election Day, now, more than ever, is the time to show your support for equality, fairness and inclusion. By wearing our Vote Obama tee, you signal to those around you that you’re standing with President Barack Obama- a president who has done more for LGBT equality than any other president in history. With its bold, bright VOTE text, our tee is a powerful reminder of the importance of participating in the democratic process. It’s 2012- your vote is your voice.
