Tonight President Obama will delivery his deliver fourth address to Congress on the State of the Union, and just as important as the speech are the special guests seated alongside the First Lady.
Typically the First Lady’s box at the State of the Union address provides a little insight into the arching themes the President will address.
Here are a few guests to keep an eye out for:
- Tracey Hepner, wife of Army Brigadier General Tammy Smith, who is the highest-ranking openly gay service member in the U.S. military. Hepner is the co-founder of Military Partners and Families Coalition.
- Kaitlin Roig, a first grade teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
- Amanda E McMillian, a pay discrimination victim whom was able to sue the Forrest City Grocery for sex discrimination under the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
Kelly Costello and Fabiola Morales, a legally married bi-national same-sex couple, will also attend the SOTU, after they received an invitation from New York Democratic Rep. Jerrold Nadler.
