Weekly Standard Says Its Vetting Process “broke down”

Weekly Standard publisher Terry Eastland is responding to the anti-gay email his publication sent out this morning that called LGBT Americans “deviants” and solicited funds to fight the Student Non-Discrimination Act.
According to Politico’s Dylan Byers, Eastland said of the email: "This is obviously not the sort of advertising that we would accept, nor will we accept it in the future. It was just one of these cases where an ad came in, it was not fully vetted in the way it should be, and it got out."

Earlier today, HRC launched an action calling on the Weekly Standard to condemn the offensive fundraising pitch from the anti-gay group “Public Advocate of the United States.” The rambling email said, among other things, that “radical homosexuals” were pushing SNDA as part of an attempt to “indoctrinate” children while creating a “new America based on sexual promiscuity.”
