Weekend Festivals in Washington State to Approve Referendum 74
May 29, 2012 by Adrian Matanza, Senior Regional Field Organizer
This weekend, volunteers and staff in Seattle attended Northwest Folklife, a festival dedicated to dedicated to celebrating the ethnic, traditional, and folk arts communities of the Northwest, to talk to supporters and volunteers about why Washingtonians should vote to APPROVE Referendum 74 this November. The crowd was supportive and ready to get involved in approving Referendum 74 this year.
Our opponents are actively collecting signatures to place the recently passed legislation up to a vote of the people and recently announced that they have collected over 125 thousand signatures. We need to make sure folks know that to support marriage equality, one should vote to APPROVE the legislation at the ballot.
We’ll be out all summer at festivals like Northwest Folklife and the many Pride celebrations happening across the state, click here to RSVP.
