Watch: HRC President on “This Week With George Stephanopoulos”

This morning HRC president Chad Griffin sat down with George Stephanopoulos to discuss the future of marriage equality.
Griffin is in San Francisco this week to celebrate the return of marriage equality to California. On Friday, he watched as Prop. 8 plaintiffs Kris Perry and Sandy Stier exchanged vows at San Francisco City Hall after the 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals took decisive action to lift the stay on same-sex marriages.
Last night the attorneys who defended Prop. 8 filed an emergency motion in the Supreme Court in an attempt to block same-sex marriages from proceeding in California. The application argued that the case is not yet final and that the stay must remain in place. However, Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy turned down the request today.
