Watch: Australian Prime Minister’s Passionate Defense of Marriage Equality

In a televised Q&A session Monday in advance of upcoming Australian elections, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd made a clear and passionate defense of his support for marriage equality.
Responding to a question about Christian concerns over same-sex marriage, Rudd cited universal love as the fundamental principle of the New Testament and said that he concluded "through an informed conscience and a Christian conscience that [supporting same-sex marriage] was the right thing to do."
