Washington Post Editorial Praises MD Marriage Equality Bill

The Washington Post is praising Maryland’s marriage equality legislation, introduced by Gov. Martin O’Malley last week. The editorial, which ran this past weekend, says the legislation strikes the right balance between extending to same-sex couples the marriage rights they deserve, while respecting the beliefs and traditions of religious organizations:
“The protection of constitutional and civil rights need not be a zero sum game. The governor’s legislation respects this principle and should serve as the foundation for a civil and productive way forward.”
