Wake Forest University to Host Graduation Ceremony Celebrating LGBT Students

Tomorrow Wake Forest University in North Carolina will hold its inaugural Lavender Graduation ceremony celebrating its LGBTQ and allied student body.

Hosted by the Wake Forest University LGBTQ Center, the ceremony will pay tribute to the graduating seniors that have contributed to the university’s rich tradition of diversity and wish these future LGBTQ and allied leaders well as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

HRC Diversity & Inclusion Council Co-Chair J. Robby Gregg, Jr will keynote the ceremony on Wednesday evening. Gregg, a longtime advocate for equality, is a Wake Forest alumnus. In his more than 20 years of experience as a diversity thought leader, Gregg has received countless accolades, including the World Diversity Leadership Council’s 2012 Diversity Champions Award and the inaugural National Inclusion Champion Award from the Center for Inclusion at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
