Vote Now for The New National Coming Out Day T-shirt Design
October 7, 2013 by Maureen McCarty, HRC Associate Director of Digital Media
Friday, October 11 marks the 25th anniversary of National Coming Out Day and Keith Haring’s iconic image of a person stepping out of a closet.
This year, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation invited New York-based artist Ryan McGinness to create new artwork for a NCOD T-shirt -- and we need your help deciding the winner.
McGinness -- a critcially-acclaimed artist, dubbed by many as the Warhol of the 21st century -- is perhaps best known for his screen prints, installations and evocative paintings. He was trained at Carnegie Mellon University’s College of Fine Arts and his work is in the permanent public collections of the Museum of Modern Art, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Cincinnati Art Museum, MUSAC in Spain, and the Misumi Collection in Japan.
Vote for your favorite design before midnight on October 10. The drawing with the most votes will be released as a T-shirt on Friday, October 11.
Cast your vote now.
