Virginia Update: Judge Hears Oral Arguments in AFER’s Marriage Equality Case

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia heard oral arguments yesterday on the constitutionality of the state’s ban on marriage equality.
The American Foundation for Equal Rights is leading the charge in the Bostic v. Rainey case. AFER has again brought together the legal prowess of Ted Olson and David Boies to represent the couples, Carol Schall and Mary Townley, and Timothy Bostic and Tony London.
At the conclusion of the two-hour hearing, District Federal Court Judge Allen said she would issue a decision “soon.”
