This was a historic convention for the LGBT community in Charlotte. Dozens of speakers – including President Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, activist Zach Wahls, Tammy Baldwin, Rahm Emanuel, and L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa – spoke out for LGBT equality as part of a broader narrative about what makes our nation strong.
