Video: Be On the Right Side of History in Maryland
October 22, 2012 by HRC staff
This post comes from HRC Editorial and Digital Media Intern Leanne Naramore:
Marylander Lee Konen created a video urging Marylanders to be a part of history by voting “yes” on Question 6, which would officially legalize same-sex marriage in the state.
“Question 6: Our Moment” takes a look back at some of the major victories in American struggles for equal civil rights, including the end of slavery, women winning the right to vote, and the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
The time is now to add another victory to our country’s timeline: marriage equality in Maryland.
HRC has set up a special fund to direct 100 percent of your contribution today to defend the marriage equality law in Maryland. HRC is a founding member and leader of Marylanders for Marriage Equality, the coalition campaign working to defend marriage in the Free State, and your contribution will support the coalition's efforts and count toward your HRC membership.
Paid for by the Human Rights Campaign, 1640 Rhode Island Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20036
