Upping the Pressure on DADT in Virginia
April 8, 2010
HRC Regional Field Director Sultan Shakir just received the following email from one of our Virginia organizers:
Hey Sultan, Just had a GREAT meeting with the Christopher Newport University Young Democrats. They are gonna be a huge help! They’ve already planned a tabling event for Monday and are working to recruit people for the Voices of Honor Event on April 22nd. I know you have this info, but the details are below. There are so many active and retired military personnel in this area of Virginia and it’s been great to see so much support for repealing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. Everyone I talk to, from the CNU students, to the vets I’ve met over the past few weeks, really hope that their Senators vote to repeal this crazy law. I also signed up a few more vets to come to the May 11th lobby day in DC! I need to run to another meeting to give people letter writing materials, so I’ll talk to ya later. -Jake Here are the details for the Voices of Honor Event
- Date: April 22nd
- Time: 7pm-9pm
- Location: Norfolk Public Library - Main Branch - 235 East Plume Street, Norfolk, VA 23510
