Growing Momentum for ENDA

Support for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) continues to build as lawmakers continue speaking out to express their support for LGBT workplace protections.
This week, Democratic Florida Sen. Bill Nelson signed on as a co-sponsor and Democratic Arkansas Sen. Mark Pryor indicated his support for the bill. And just this morning, The New York Times reported that West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin is backing the bill as well.
On the House Republican side, New Jersey Rep. Jon Runyan will join Rep. Charlie Dent, Rep. Eichard Hanna and Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen as a co-sponsor of the bill.
Indeed the need for ENDA resonates across partisan lines, with 70 percent of Americans – including 56 percent of Republicans – in favor of workplace opportunity and protections, according to Americans for Workplace Opportunity polling.
Americans from all walks of life share the basic value that no one- including LGBT people – should face discrimination in the workplace.
