U.S. Department of Education to Host Bullying Prevention Summit

This Monday and Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Education will host the third annual Federal Partners in Bullying Prevention Summit, which will focus on coordinating anti-bullying effort.
Keynote speakers U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and the First Lady of Maryland Katie O’Malley, as well as discussions between White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett and Cynthia Germanotta, mother of Lady Gaga.
“Keeping our children safe is everyone’s responsibility, and I’m proud to come together with so many national leaders, parents, teachers and students to reaffirm our collective commitment to prevent bullying in every way possible,” said Duncan in statement for last year’s summit.
The two-day summit is in partnership with eight other federal agencies that make up the Federal Partners in Bullying Prevention Steering Committee.
