At Gay Days in Orlando, Florida, a tow truck driver illegally towed over 100 cars belonging to LGBT attendees.
According to the Associated Press, Jason Combs, who owns ASAP towing, towed the cars between June 5 and June 9 and made over $16,000 from towing the vehicles.
The Orlando Sentinel reported that, “Combs didn't have an up-to-date contract to tow vehicles or have proper signage notifying motorists the lot was a tow-away zone…” Additionally, Combs allegedly towed the cars more than ten miles away, which is a violation of Florida law, and illegally charged drives a $40 gate fee.
Corporal Rick Schmeltzer told the Sentinel, "He's one of those [business owners] that wants to pick and choose what [laws] he's going to follow.”
Combs has been charged with 29 counts of grand theft auto.
