TODAY: Vermont House to debate marriage equality bill
April 2, 2009
The Vermont House is expected to debate and vote on a bill to grant marriage equality this afternoon. Marriage equality supporters wearing yellow buttons have converged at the Vermont statehouse in Montpelier in a show of support and to observe the debate. Watch the Burlington Free Press live webcast and live chat of the debate that will tentatively begin around 4 p.m. today here. In recent days, a group of marriage equality supporters followed Vermont Governor Jim Douglas (R), who has threatened to veto the marriage bill, to press conferences and public appearances where they held signs and engaged people to support marriage equality.
