This week’s HRC headquarters phonebank

new-hampshire-mapLast week the HRC Field Team and volunteers celebrated Cinco De Mayo by sharing burritos and dialing for marriage equality in New Hampshire at our weekly phone bank. The calls helped us cross an important threshold for our spring season of Dialing for Equality: volunteers have now had over 3,000 conversations about equality in six different states! Last week calls aimed to mobilize voters from the Granite State to contact Gov. Lynch to let him know that New Hampshire residents want the marriage bill to become law. The majority of New Hampshire voters believe two loving, committed adults should be able to take full responsibility for each other and be recognized equally under the law through marriage. The people have spoken through their elected officials who passed the bill through the state house and state senate. Our volunteers had a great impact on urging the people of New Hampshire to ask Gov. Lynch to do the right thing and sign the bill as soon as possible. Our next phone bank will be Wednesday, May 13 from 6-9pm. We meet at HRC Headquarters, located at 1640 Rhode Island Ave. NW, Washington, DC.  You don’t need any experience phonebanking to participate—just a passion for equality! To RSVP, or if you have any questions, feel free to email Katie Taylor.
