It’s been a big week for ‘The Normal Heart’ on Broadway – it opened April 27 to rave reviews, and it has just received five Tony Award nominations. Congratulations to everyone involved with the Broadway play! ‘The Normal Heart’ – the story of a group of friends who refused to let doctors, politicians and the press ignore the growing AIDS epidemic of the 1980s – was nominated in the following categories:

• Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play (Joe Mantello)
• Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play (John Benjamin Hickey)
• Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play (Ellen Barkin)
• Best Direction of a Play (Joel Grey & George C. Wolfe)
• Best Revival of a Play
