The L Word’s Jennifer Beals Auctioning Dress, Handwritten Speech to Benefit HRC

This post comes from HRC Editorial & Digital Media Intern Leanne Naramore:

Jennifer Beals continues to exemplify how straight celebrities can serve as allies to the LGBT community.

The L Word star won HRC’s Ally for Equality award in October, and she is now auctioning off the custom-made dress she wore to accept the award along with her handwritten acceptance speech. The speech is written on the back of Beals’ "The Mob Doctor" script, and she has also signed the envelope encasing the script.

Beals will donate the profits of the auction to both HRC and the production of Cinemanovel, an independent movie in which she stars.

Bidding on Jennifer Beals’ dress and handwritten speech ends Dec. 21. Bid now on the speech and the custom-made dress, and watch her entire HRC Ally for Equality award acceptance speech below.
