The Day After the NJ Debate
October 2, 2009
Last night was the first debate between the candidates who are running for Governor in New Jersey. The Trenton headquarters were buzzing today with a new found energy, because Governor Corzine delivered a home run. Tuesday Nov 3 will be upon us before we know it, and I sat down to strategize with the coordinated campaign on mobilizing the LGBT community and our allies to help Corzine and other fair-minded leaders win on Election Day. During last nights debate, Chris Christie made it clear that if he was elected Governor of NJ he would not sign a marriage equality bill into law, and he went further to define marriage between one man and one woman. There is so much at stake in this election beyond marriage equality, but as this campaign wears on, Chris Christie's stance on marriage equality has become crystal clear. What can you do: Get into a campaign office today! There are campaign offices in every county in NJ, and the LGBT community can make a HUGE impact by getting into those offices. The most recent poll shows that Corzine has closed a serious gap and is within striking distance, but he can not do it without our help. Email me today to help elect fair-minded leaders in New Jersey: [email protected] 32 days and counting!!!
