Tell the Boy Scouts: It’s 2012, Not 1912
July 19, 2012 by Eric Cameron, Digital Media Associate
The Boy Scouts of America has reaffirmed a discriminatory policy that keeps "open or avowed homosexuals" from being members or leaders.
HRC President Chad Griffin called out BSA for affirming a policy that sends a harmful message to young Americans. “With the country moving toward inclusion, the leaders of the Boy Scouts of America have instead sent a message to young people that only some of them are valued. These adults could have taught the next generation of leaders the value of respect, yet they’ve chosen to teach division and intolerance.”
Hundreds of thousands of equality supporters have already signed petitions - and now it's up to us to dial up the pressure on BSA to reverse this awful decision.
Tell the BSA to drop their misguided and hurtful policy. Send your message now.
