Tammy Takes the Lead
September 19, 2012 by Paul Guequierre
Good news out of the Wisconsin where Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin has taken the lead against former Governor Tommy Thompson in the race for the U.S. Senate. President Obama has also increased his lead over Mitt Romney in the Badger state, despite the fact that Romney’s running mate, Congressman Paul Ryan is from Wisconsin.
According to news reports, the newly-released Marquette University Law School Poll says the two Democratic candidates for election in Wisconsin have opened up larger leads. The new poll shows Baldwin leads Thomson 50-41, and President Obama holds a commanding 14 point (54-40) lead over Romney.
If victorious, Tammy Baldwin will make history as the first openly-LGBT U.S. Senator. In her thirteen years in Congress, Tammy has been a champion of LGBT equality and has fought hard for working families. HRC has proudly endorsed Tammy for the U.S. Senate.
