Take Action: Virulently Anti-LGBT Radio Hosts Say Gay People Will “Destroy Everything”

We asked you yesterday to join us in taking action against Pastor Dave Buehner, who earlier this week claimed that the country’s “embrace of homosexuality” stands to “destroy society…destroy lives…destroy families, we’ll destroy everything.”
But it gets worst.
Buehner and his co-host, Kevin Swanson, use their radio show – Generations Radio – as a platform for spewing anti-LGBT hate on a regular basis. Kevin Swanson once implied that same-sex parents were “one of the most devastating things we have ever seen in the history of mankind” and claimed that children of same-sex couples were at increased risk for suicide and other dysfunctions.
On another occasion, the two said that Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy devastated New Orleans and New York because those are among the most “pro-homosexual, liberal” cities in the country; they went on to imply that although God had yet to take his wrath out on San Francisco, an earthquake could easily devastate the city.
They even spoke out in support of the “Kill the Gays” legislation in Uganda – claiming anti-LGBT lawmakers were simply trying to codify the Bible’s teaching on homosexuality.
We need your help in sending a message that this kind of dangerous and offensive rhetoric is unacceptable.
Polling shows that an astounding 86 percent of Christians polled say they reject discrimination against LGBT people precisely because the principles of their faith compel them to do so. That same poll, conducted by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner, found that 70 percent of people felt it did more harm than good when religious leaders like Pastor Buehner speak out against LGBT people.
