Take Action: Rally in Support of Marriage Equality in Illinois
April 18, 2013 by Lynne Bowman, Regional Field Director
We need your help. The opposition is going after Representative Linda Chapa Lavia -- and we need to show her that Illinoisans support the freedom to marry. Rep. Chapa Lavia still hasn’t decided how she’ll vote on SB10. So our opponents are gathering at her office on Saturday for a protest, urging her to vote against marriage for same-sex couples.
We need her vote -- it’s that simple. That’s why we need you and hundreds of marriage supporters around the state to join us for a rally and peaceful demonstration on Saturday. Together, we’ll show Rep. Chapa Lavia that Illinoisans believe in marriage for all loving couples.

What: Peaceful Rally for Marriage Equality
When: Saturday, April 20 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon
Where: Rep. Linda Chapa Lavia’s Office
8 Galena Blvd, Suite 240
Aurora, IL 60506
For many of you, we’re asking you to travel some distance to join us on Saturday. But that’s how important Rep. Chapa Lavia’s vote is.
Our opponents will be in full force on Saturday. They’ll be loud, and they’ll be spreading hurtful lies about same-sex couples and their families.
It’s absolutely critical that we show Representative Chapa Lavia just how much support there is for the freedom to marry.
Please join us this Saturday in Aurora.
