Gunner Scott, executive director of the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition (MTPC), came by our office today to update us on the status of adding gender identity and expression to state Hate Crimes and non-discrimination laws in the Bay State. He remains hopeful that the bill could become law soon. We also discussed progress on ENDA, and how Massachusetts’ own Barney Frank is leading the charge. While it was an informative meeting, it was also wonderful to see a colleague. When Jeremy and I worked at MassEquality in Boston before coming to HRC, we both worked alongside Gunner. His tenacity, sense of humor, and his friendship make him a terrific colleague.
