“Strategic Prayer Strike” Receives Lou Engle’s Backing
March 14, 2012 by Eric Cameron, Digital Media Coordinator
A group known as TheCry Hollywood is planning a “strategic prayer strike” in Los Angeles tomorrow, March 15.
The Canadian-based Christian movement is calling on participants to converge in Hollywood, to pray for God to “bless those in the entertainment industry and move in their lives powerfully.”
According to the group’s FAQ, TheCry has been a “very similar movement in Canada to what TheCall has been in the USA.” TheCall is led by anti-gay fundamentalist Lou Engle, who has used religious extremism to justify and defend Uganda’s infamous “Kill the Gays” bill.
While emphasizing their independent status as an organization, TheCry touts their blessing and endorsement from Lou Engle and quotes him at the end of the event’s video.
We’ll be keeping our eyes on TheCry in the weeks to come.
