Star Power at the NYUM Phone Bank!

With only a few days remaining for New York senators to vote on marriage equality, last night’s New Yorkers United for Marriage coalition phone bank attracted a packed house in Times Square with over 125 volunteers, along with the star and political power of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, New York City Council Speaker Chris Quinn and entertainer Lance Bass!

With so much anticipation and excitement for marriage equality, HRC volunteers were eager to get trained and start making phone calls alongside the celebrity guests and elected officials.

Mayor Bloomberg himself got on the phones and made calls in support of marriage.“Hi I’m Mike and I’m calling on behalf of the New Yorkers United for Marriage…”

Needless to say, everyone was very excited that our Mayor took time out of his busy schedule to make phone calls on behalf of equal marriage rights for all New Yorkers.  Thank you, Mr. Mayor.

We have only days remaining.  If you are interested in joining our efforts, please contact Stephen at stephen.anderson@hrc.org.
