Senator Bill Nelson Supports Marriage Equality

Today U.S. Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) announced his support for marriage equality. In a statement to the Tampa Bay Times, Nelson attributed his change of heart to his faith.
"All men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. I believe that. The civil rights and responsibilities for one must pertain to all. Thus, to discriminate against one class and not another is wrong for me."
Sen. Nelson becomes the 51st U.S. Senator to endorse marriage equality. Earlier this week we celebrated the announcements by Sens. Tom Carper, Democrat of Delaware, and Mark Kirk, Republican of Illinois, that they support marriage equality. Kirk is the second current Republican Senator to support marriage for gay and lesbian couples.
And with Nelson's announcement today, a majority of the United States Senate supports marriage equality.
