Sara Bareilles Joins HRC’s Equality Rocks Campaign

Today singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles added her voice to HRC’s Equality Rocks campaign.
Equality Rocks is a public engagement campaign featuring prominent musicians - both American and international - who support committed gay and lesbian couples getting married.
Bareilles is a longtime HRC supporter and LGBT advocate. Her third album’s hit single, “Brave,” which is featured in her campaign video, is lauded as this year’s anthem for the LGBT rights movement.
She wrote the song, alongside fellow HRC supporter Jack Antonoff, to inspire those who struggle with the arduous journey of coming out.
“It's about wanting someone to feel safe, and that it's safe to be authentic,” Bareilles said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.
In October, she performed the song at the17th Annual HRC National Dinner. And this Sunday, Bareilles will face off against other equality-supporters for the Grammy’s “Album of the Year.”
