Romney Advisor Mocked It Gets Better Project

Romney advisor Eric Fehrnstrom’s comments earlier this week that Mitt Romney’s positions were “like an Etch a Sketch” don’t represent the first time he’s likely had a candidate wincing at his words.
He made fun of the It Gets Better project on a fake Twitter account last year in an attempt to torpedo a potential challenger to Massachusetts Republican Senator Scott Brown.
On the fake Twitter handle of “CrazyKhazei,” Fehrnstrom tweeted: “I promise to devote all my time in office to making gay videos. Shame on Scott Brown for focusing on jobs!”
The tweet was in response to criticism Brown received for skipping out on the Massachusetts delegation’s It Gets Better video.
So, in addition to a national finance co-chair who has demonized LGBT people for years, Romney’s top advisor also appears to think the struggles LGBT youth face is a laughing matter.
