Alison Nathan, an advisor and member of President Obama's gay advisory committee, has been named one of the president's associate counsels. From the Washington Blade:
Alison Nathan, who until recently was a fellow at New York University’s law school and a visiting assistant professor at Fordham’s law school, was chosen for the role. She will help advise Obama on legal issues regarding him and the White House. Obama announced he had selected Nathan for the role on the same day he named 21 other lawyers to serve in legal positions at the White House.
