Yesterday dozens of supporters joined HRC President Chad Griffin for a press conference on the steps of the Arkansas State Capitol building, all in support of Sheridan High School student Taylor Ellis.

Administrators at Sheridan High School, located just south of Little Rock, Arkansas, are refusing to include an interview with openly gay student Taylor Ellis in this year’s yearbook.

Yesterday Sheridan Superintendent Dr. Brenda Haynes released a statement, standing by the discriminatory decision to not include Taylor’s bio.

At the press conference, Taylor and his mom Lynn, Chad and Chad’s mother Betty, a former Arkansas school administrator, called on the school to do the right thing by including Taylor’s bio in the yearbook.

Join HRC and stand in support of Taylor Ellis and all LGBT students who are made to feel that their lives are not equally valid. Take action now.
