Yesterday, individuals and organizations rallied together in over 70 cities to voice the need for immigration reform. The rallies are part of the #Not1More campaign in support of ending deportation. The campaign aims to foster collaboration between individuals, organizations, and allies in order to confront, and overcome unjust immigration laws.
Growing out of the unprecedented immigration reform movement, more than 80 organizations took part in this movement both digitally and in on the ground efforts. There were more than 80 events on the ground calling for action on immigration reform and an end to unjust deportations. Supporters not involved in on-the-ground efforts were able to show their support over social media using the hashtag #Not1More, and tweeting at leaders who can make a difference in the immigration movement.
The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has long worked on legislation to protect LGBT individuals in the immigration and deportation systems.
