Out Now: Jeremy Hooper Addresses ‘If It’s a Choice’
June 5, 2012 by Eric Cameron, Digital Media Associate
As we previewed on Friday, blogger and LGBT equality fighter Jeremy Hooper’s first book is now available in stores. In If It's a Choice, My Zygote Chose Balls: Making Sense of Senseless Controversy, Hooper discusses his experience of growing up gay in America and the ways LGBT people, allies and would-be allies can push the equality conversation forward.
With a style that is both humorous and sharp, Hooper presents tales that everyone can relate to, shining a lens on the values we all seek to promote and experience – like peace, equality, and acceptance.
For years, Jeremy Hooper has been at the forefront of efforts to advance equality and counter the disingenuous rhetoric of anti-LGBT groups through his activism and site, Good As You. He’s also an invaluable partner and contributor to HRC’s NOM Exposed work.
We know that personal stories and relationships are critical to changing hearts and minds. In just the past few weeks, both President Obama and former U.S. Secretary of State and Ret. Gen. Colin Powell cited the LGBT people in their lives as a driving force behind their decisions to support marriage equality.
If It's a Choice, My Zygote Chose Balls: Making Sense of Senseless Controversy is available via Amazon.com, GoodAsYou.org, and in retail stores beginning today.
