Ohio to Washington: Pass ENDA Now!
January 29, 2010
The last week on the road has reminded me of 2008 because everyone I speak with in Ohio is willing to roll up their sleeves and get involved. From Toledo to Athens, people have been sitting down and writing letters to their members of congress asking them to vote for the fully-inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). I met with students at Ohio State in Athens who have been out gathering letters on campus and around their small college town. Many local business owners have agreed to write letters in support of ENDA too. Last night in Toledo at the Village Church, we met with a small group of leaders who are planning to gather more than 100 letters in the next week to take to Congresswoman Kaptur's office in Toledo. I have the best job in the world because I get to travel around the state of Ohio and make sure that people's voices are heard in Washington. Regardless of where you live, you can take action to help pass ENDA today by visiting www.passENDAnow.org. Of course you can use the site to write your member of congress, but you can also access tools to help you organize in your community. Learn how to host an in-district meeting, write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper and so much more. And if you want to get involved in Ohio, email me at email@example.com.
