Ohio: Final Hours to Support Equality & Vote for Sherrod Brown
November 6, 2012 by Maureen McCarty, HRC Associate Director of Digital Media
HRC has been hard at work in Ohio, doing everything we can to reelect fair-minded leaders Sherrod Brown for U.S. Senate and President Obama.
In 1996, Sherrod Brown was one of just 67 of 435 members of the U.S. House to oppose the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act. Now in the Senate, Brown is one of just a handful who fully supports equal marriage rights. Sen. Brown is also a cosponsor of the fully inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act, and voted to repeal the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” law in 2010. Brown is the only Democrat elected statewide in Ohio, and faces a tough reelection in 2012.
Have you cast your vote for equality? We want to see what equality in Ohio looks like! Send us your photos by posting on HRC's Facebook Timeline or on Twitter and Instagram using the #Vote4Equality hashtag.
