Oakland Raiders Sign Punter and LGBT Equality Advocate Chris Kluwe
May 16, 2013 by Eric Cameron, Digital Media Coordinator
NFL punter and outspoken LGBT equality advocate Chris Kluwe has been signed to the Oakland Raiders.
Kluwe played for eight seasons with the Minnesota Vikings before being released on May 6.
Last September, when Baltimore Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayenbadejo received criticism for his vocal support of marriage equality in Maryland, Kluwe stepped up in defense with an open letter to Maryland state delegate Emmett C. Burns, Jr.
Since that time, Kluwe has campaigned for marriage equality in Minnesota and spoken up as a tremendous ally in the fight for LGBT equality nationwide.
Congratulations Chris!
