August 20, 2014 by Hayley Miller, Senior Digital Media Associate
Today NPR released a piece profiling HRC’s Project One America campaign.
NPR joined HRC in the Deep South, where HRC is working to expand LGBT equality through permanent campaigns in Mississippi, Alabama and Arkansas.
NPR reporter Debbie Elliott spoke with HRC staff, volunteers, allies and elected officials in Mississippi about the unprecedented grassroots effort to change hearts and minds in the South.
As supporter Larry Best said in the interview, “"Let's go to Arkansas, let's go to Mississippi, let's go to Alabama because if we can get equality there, then we've won America."
The interview is available here.
HRC Mississippi is working to change hearts and minds, advance enduring legal protections, and build more inclusive instituations. Recently, Rob Hill was named director of HRC Mississippi.
