After six hours of testimony, the New Jersey Assembly Judiciary Committee has passed the marriage equality bill. In a historic vote of 5-2, the committee agreed to send the marriage bill to the floor of the Assembly.
This marks the first time that the Assembly has taken action on the marriage equality bill. The Senate Judiciary Committee approved the bill last Tuesday.
Final votes on the marriage bill are expected before March.
