Next Steps in New Hampshire
May 22, 2009
That says it all. We have until June 3rd to get the extra votes we need to win marriage in New Hampshire. After reading the headlines it was back to work. After buying morning donuts for his staff Ray Buckley was examining the votes.
Two weeks to go. Two weeks to organize. Two weeks to win the hearts and votes of a few more legislators. It was a powerful experience being here to see our allies at work; to see the people's representatives taking their duty seriously. They have given us a two week reprieve to achieve consensus. New England is a historic and beautiful place. Our country was birthed here and the marriage equality movement was birthed here as well.
