New Polling on Washington State’s Ref 71
October 27, 2009
This post is from Adrian Matanza, HRC's organizer on the ground in Washington State.
With only a week left until election day, the Washington Families Standing Together campaign to APPROVE referendum 71 released recent polling showing a 17 point lead over the opponents of equality. 53 to 36 percent of people polled "approve" the domestic partnership law in Washington state (more in ApproveRef71's press release, pdf). That being said, there is a huge undecided group and the fact that this is an off year election, we still have a lot of work to do in the coming week. Moving to Seattle on August 31st has been great. Each and every one of the volunteers and activists I have met so far have been awesome and have given a lot of their time and money to the campaign. I invite each to join us in the last days of the election to make sure we APPROVE referendum 71 and ensure protections for all Washington families. Check out our phone bank times and locations at approve71.org or by contacting me at [email protected]. And for a lighter point of view on Referendum 71:
